There are 4 Couriers in Saipan. Although remotely situated in the Pacific, the 4 major shipping players are present in this island.
Let’s go over them one by one.
United States Postal Office (USPS)
This is the biggest guy in the room. It has two branches, one located in Chalan Kanoa Village and the other in Capitol Hills.
USPS does not deliver mail to business establishments or residential addresses. You must visit the Post Office to collect your mail and packages. The reason is that, previously, there were no physical addresses before and it was only recently that streets and house numbers were established.
With that being said, some online vendors will not ship to a P.O. box, and therefore, they will not ship to Saipan. Keep that in mind when you are shopping in the Internet.
USPS is the cheapest among the four (4).
DHL
If you’re buying stuff from B&H, this is the preferred shipping method. It is the fastest, affordable, and reliable way to get your package within a week.
Because Saipan is situated remotely, DHL is more expensive compared to USPS.
FedEx & UPS
You have two more options to choose from, FedEx and UPS. Again, compared with USPS, they are expensive.
No matter which courier you choose, it will take time for your mail or package to be delivered. Therefore, proper planning is advisable, especially when purchasing gifts for the upcoming holidays.
You may expect delays or lost packages when using USPS. So keep that in mind. Choose a reliable vendor, such as Amazon or Walmart, that offers refunds in case your package is delayed or lost.
